My research develops risk-based frameworks and operational tools to ensure the safe and sustainable reuse of treated wastewater for agricultural irrigation, directly supporting EU Regulation 2020/741 implementation and Mediterranean drought adaptation.
As a Visiting Scientist at the JRC (European Commission), I contributed to environmental risk assessment and irrigation water quality research at the science-policy interface.
Currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at DISTAL (University of Bologna), advancing this work with a One Health and Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem Nexus perspective.
