Pietro Delcorno completed his PhD in Medieval History at Radboud University in 2016. In 2015, he was visiting researcher at Heinrich Heine Universität Düsseldorf and received a Rubicon Fellowship from the Dutch Research Council (NWO) to conduct research at the University of Leeds until 2018.
After a period as visiting researcher at Wits University, Johannesburg, in 2018/19 he was fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study of the Central European University (CEU), Budapest, where he developed the kick-off phase of an investigation on Lenten preaching as a tool to shape religious identity and form of ordering and transmitting knowledge, a line of research further developed thanks to a Gerda Henkel Stiftung Research Grant (2019) and an NWO Veni Research Grant that allowed Delcorno to work two years at Radboud University (2020-2021). The project will be further develop at the University of Bologna, where he started to work in September 2021, first as senior assistant professor and now as associate professor.
