Pier Francesco Bresciani is currently Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Constitutional Law on the ERC project HyperModeLex.
His research interests include punitive power, public order and security, the enforcing of morals by law, the means of protection of fundamental rights, and the use of AI and new technologies in public decision-making.
He holds a PhD in Legal Studies from the University of Bologna, a MD in Law from the University of Bologna, and a PgDip in Humanities and Social Sciences from the Collegio Superiore of the University of Bologna.
He has been for several years Teaching Assistant in Constitutional Law, Parliamentary Law, Administrative Law, and Rule of Law.
He was visiting PhD candidate at both the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg and the Max Planck Institute for the study of Crime, Security and Law in Freiburg.
He clerked as a trainee for Judge Barbera at the Italian Constitutional Court.
He is an attorney at law and a member of Bologna Bar Association.
