The physiology of bovine mammary gland has been the main scientific
interest of Prof. P.A. Accorsi.
In particular, his research has been focussed on the following
topics:
• Influence of secreting mammary gland on reproduction in bovine:
steroidogenesis in mammary gland.
• Endocrine Activity in mammary tissue.
• Hormonal control of milk compounds synthesis.
• Galactopoietic hormones on apoptosis in bovine mammary
tissue.
At present Pr. Accorsi deals with the definition of ethologic,
physiologic and endocrine parameters that can be useful as animal
welfare indicators, with particular reference to the development of
non-invasive methods of biological sample collection.
