Description of Research Topics
1. Legal framework of the landscape in Galicia and its regulatory evolution
The project analyzes international, national, and regional regulations concerning the protection and planning of the landscape, with particular attention to the European Landscape Convention of Florence (2000), Spanish legislation, and the specific instruments developed in Galicia (Landscape Guidelines and the “Paisaxe Galega” Collection).
2. Landscape, the European Green Deal, and clean energy
The study investigates the role of the landscape within the framework of the European Green Deal, highlighting the connections between landscape regulation and the objectives of decarbonization and energy transition. The aim is to demonstrate how proper territorial and landscape planning can contribute to achieving the environmental goals set by the EU.
3. Landscape and equality: Agenda 2030 as a reference framework
The research explores the relationship between landscape, fundamental rights, and equality, with particular reference to Sustainable Development Goal No. 10 (“Reduced Inequalities”). It emphasizes the potential of landscape law as a tool to reduce social, territorial, and accessibility inequalities, as well as to improve the quality of life and mental health of communities.
