My earlier research work focused on the following topics:

a. market microstructure, with a specific reference to money markets

b. quantitative methods for risk measurement and management

c. price formation in commodity markets

d. quantitative macroeconomics.

The purpose of my current research is to investigate the role of cultural factors in the patterns of exchange that characterize modern market economies, in particular:

1. the formation of individual values and their impact on collective institutions

2. the intergenerational transmission of knowledge

3. the social factors that lead to conflicts

4. the role of language in economics.
