Paolo Bonifazi

Associate Professor at the University of Bologna since 2025, he conducts research in the field of neuroscience, with a particular focus on the study of neural circuits and brain networks from the perspective of complex systems. His research combines in vitro experimental approaches—such as the use of organoids and optical monitoring techniques of neural circuit activity and structure—with computational methods for data analysis aimed at identifying dynamics and structures typical of pathological systems. He actively collaborates with clinicians in the study of epilepsy. He is affiliated with the Biobizkaia Institute in the Basque Country (Spain), where he continues his research in neurobiology, participating in international projects and collaborating with European institutions, including the University of Bordeaux (France).
