Palmiro Notizia is a Senior Assistant Professor at the Dipartimento di Storia Cultura e Civiltà of the Alma Mater Studiorum – Università degli Studi di Bologna. After receiving his Ph.D. from the Università degli Studi di Napoli "l'Orientale", he has been a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institut für Assyriologie und Hethitologie, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, the Instituto de Lenguas y Culturas del Mediterráneo y Oriente Próximo, CCHS-CSIC (Madrid), the Università degli Studi di Messina, and the Università di Pisa. He has published Early Dynastic, Neo-Sumerian, and Old Babylonian cuneiform texts held in the British Museum, the Yale Babylonian Collection, the Harvard Semitic Museum, and the Jonathan and Jeannette Rosen Ancient Near Eastern Studies Seminar at Cornell University. His main research interests focus on the socio-economic history of Babylonia in the third and second millennia BC.
