Palmiro Notizia

Palmiro Notizia is an Associate Professor at the Dipartimento di Storia Cultura e Civiltà of the Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna. After receiving his Ph.D. from the Università degli Studi di Napoli “L’Orientale”, he held postdoctoral research fellowships at the Institut für Assyriologie und Hethitologie, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München; the Instituto de Lenguas y Culturas del Mediterráneo y Oriente Próximo, CCHS-CSIC (Madrid); the Università degli Studi di Messina; and the Università di Pisa. He has published Early Dynastic, Neo-Sumerian, and Old Babylonian cuneiform texts held in the British Museum, the Yale Babylonian Collection, the Harvard Semitic Museum, and the Jonathan and Jeannette Rosen Ancient Near Eastern Studies Seminar at Cornell University. His research focuses primarily on the socio-economic history of Babylonia in the third and second millennia BC.
