Özen N. S. Dolcerocca holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from New York University (2016). Her research compares Ottoman and Turkish literary history with the literatures of Russia, Japan, and Western Europe, across modernism, translation theory, narratology, and digital humanities, rethinking Eurocentric models of literary modernity. She holds the Italian national habilitation (Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale) as Full Professor (Prima Fascia), Settore Concorsuale 10/N1 – Cultures of the Ancient Near East, Middle East, and Africa (2026). She is Principal Investigator of the ERC project "Modernizing Empires: Enlightenment, Nationalist Vanguards and Non-Western Literary Modernities" (NONWESTLIT), comparing linguistic renewal and literary renaissance across Russia, Turkey, and Japan. She is active in international research policy and advisory work with the Slovak Academy of Sciences, CoARA, TÜBİTAK, and COST, and is an elected member of the Young Academy of Europe.
