I am a PhD Student in Earth, Life and Environmental Sciences (supervisor: Prof. Marco Passamonti, Prof. Federico Plazzi). 

Projects

1. Invertebrates Phylogenomics
1a. Conducted phylogenomic analysis of the phylum Gastrotricha (under review).
1b. Conducting Spiralia phylogenomics, with particular focus on Rouphozoa (ongoing).

2. Mitonuclear coevolution
2a. Investigated protein-protein coevolution between OXPHOS genes and the effects on phylogenetic signal in Squamata (published).
2b. Conducting a network-based characterization of mitonuclear coevolution in Squamata (manuscript).

3. Small non-coding RNAs across Metazoa
3a. Annotating the microRNA complement in Gastrotricha (ongoing) and Tardigrada (ongoing).
3b. Investigating the role in nuclear transcription of mitochondrial sncRNAs in the Manila clam Ruditapes philippinarum (ongoing).

I graduated with Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Bologna in 2021, followed by a Master's degree in Biodiversity and Evolution in 2023.
