Short Bio

Since November 2024, I have been a PhD student in Sociology and Social Research. My research focuses on the deconstruction of institutional and systemic racism toward racialised people—particularly Afro-descendants—as well as the study of social movements and the political and cultural participation of Afro-descendants in Italy and Europe. I pay specific attention to the “before and after” of the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests.

I graduated in International Relations at the University of Macerata with a thesis in International Human Rights, which examined the protection of fundamental rights of migrants rescued in the Mediterranean Sea. I am a freelance writer for various newspapers, covering topics such as migration and systemic racism. I also collaborate with CILD (the Italian Coalition for Civil Liberties and Rights) as a project assistant in the areas of migration and human rights.
