Short Bio

Since November 2024, I have been a PhD student in Sociology and Social Research. My research focuses on the deconstruction of institutional and systemic racism toward racialised people—particularly Afro-descendants—as well as the study of the cultural participation and narrative change carried out by Afro-descendants in Italy and Europe. I pay specific attention to the “before and after” of the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests. I graduated in International Relations from the University of Macerata with a thesis on International Human Rights, which examined the protection of the fundamental rights of migrants rescued in the Mediterranean Sea.

I am a freelance writer for various newspapers, covering topics such as migration and systemic racism. From 2021 to March 2026, I worked at CILD (the Italian Coalition for Civil Liberties and Rights) as a junior researcher and project assistant, focusing on areas such as migration, human rights, and immigration detention.
