Bachelor Internships in Vehicle Dynamics and Automotive Control
The CAR-Lab, Laboratory of Research in Control and Automotive, https://dei.unibo.it/it/ricerca/gruppi-di-ricerca/car-lab, offers bachelor internships in mathematical modelling, simulation, control, and validation of road-vehicle systems.
Available topics include:
- systems integration: design and implementation of point-to-point and bus communications;
- signal conditioning algorithms;
- vehicle-dynamics (comprehensive of suspensions, steering, and wheels) modelling;
- tyre and propulsion models;
- ADAS such as active suspensions, adaptive cruise control, wheel controls (ABS, TC, Launch Control), ESP;
- state estimation and system identification;
- driver modelling and steering-wheel force feedback;
- environment creation and communication with vehicle dynamics;
Students will work on a clearly defined technical problem and contribute hardware configuration, software components, mathematical models, test procedures, and control algorithms to the integrated CAR-Lab SIL-HIL-DIL platform.
A typical internship includes mathematical formulation, MATLAB/Simulink implementation, HIL-DIL simulation experiments, quantitative validation, and technical documentation.
