Nicola Lacetera's research interests include the ethical and social support of economic activities, the motivations for altruistic behavior, and various topics in behavioral, health and organizational economics. At the University of Bologna, he teaches courses in microeconomics, the economics of regulation, and behavioral economics of organizations.
Professor Lacetera is currently on leave from the University of Toronto, where he is Professor of Management. Before joining the University of Toronto, he was an Assistant Professor of Economics at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, USA. He is also affiliated to various research institutions, including the National Bureau of Economic Research, the CESIfo network, the Behavioural Economics in Action lab at the Rotman School of Management, the Schwartz Reisman Institute for Technology and Society, and the Gender and the Economy Institute (GATE).
He holds a Ph.D. from the Behavioral and Policy Sciences area at the Sloan School of Management of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a bachelor degree from Bocconi University.
