PhD student at the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences (DIMEVET) of Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna. Research interests are focused on animal welfare and veterinary legislation and food safety.

Education

  • 2019- present PhD student at the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences (DIMEVET) of Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna
  • July 2012: MVSc (Master of Veterinary Science) in Tropical Veterinary Public Health from Addis Ababa University Debre Zeit (College of Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture)
  • August 2006: DVM (Doctor of veterinary Medicine) in Veterinary Medicine from Addis Ababa University, Debre Zeit (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine)

Teaching activities

  • From October 2006 to June 2012: Wolaita Soddo Agricultural College, (a College established to produce middle level agricultural professionals who work in the rural community of the country) Develop teaching modules, deliver different modules to middle level agricultural professionals which include animal health courses, livestock husbandry courses, food of animal hygiene and safety, conduct participatory community service and conduct research.
  • From October 2012 – November 2019: Wolaita Sodo University, school of veterinary medicine working as Assistant professor, Lecture and practical orientation of veterinary medicine students on veterinary public health courses which include milk hygiene, meat hygiene, risk analysis, zoonoses, tropical infectious diseases and food safety courses to different departments. Develop and conduct community problem solving research projects in collaboration with Wolaita Sodo University and other organizations. Conducting community services in collaboration with Wolaita Sodo University and other organizations and local authorities
  • Supervised 11 graduation thesis in veterinary medicine students
