Nicolò Donati is a final-year PhD Candidate in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Bologna (DISI), specializing in
Generative AI,
Computational Argumentation, and
LLM Evaluation. His research focuses on LLM evaluation,
RAG,
summarization, and
stylistic adaptation, with the aim of designing writing and editing support systems for the publishing and educational sectors. He collaborates with Zanichelli Editore and Porto Editora, as well as industrial partners including Expert.ai and Bonfiglioli, applying research to real-world solutions in automated accessibility, reasoning validation, and the optimization of editorial and industrial workflows. Recent projects include
LAV (Lightweight Argumentation Validator), a reasoning phase validator developed during his time as a Visiting Researcher at the Faculty of Engineering (FEUP) of the University of Porto, and a production-deployed STEM accessibility pipeline for alt-text generation with human-in-the-loop validation. His work has been presented at venues such as CLiC-it 2024, ECAI 2025, and CSUN 41.
