Murad Harasheh is Associate Professor of Finance and Director of the Second-Cycle Degree Programme in Economics and Commerce at the University of Bologna. He is also a Core Faculty member at Bologna Business School.
He holds a Ph.D. in Economics, Law, and Institutions from the IUSS School for Advanced Studies in Pavia (2014), an MBA in Finance, and a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Banking, both awarded with distinction by Birzeit University in Palestine.
Before joining the University of Bologna in 2021, he worked as a lecturer and researcher in Finance at Birzeit University, a financial consultant and investment analyst, and an economist and energy-market analyst at the Italian Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and Environment (ARERA), in collaboration with the University of Pavia. He subsequently held a postdoctoral research position at the University of Milan-Bicocca and taught at the University of Milan.
His research focuses on corporate finance and valuation, ESG and sustainable finance, corporate governance, SMEs and family firms, and energy, commodity, and carbon markets. He is the author of Global Commodities: Physical, Financial, and Sustainability Aspects and has published extensively in international peer-reviewed journals in finance, corporate sustainability, business valuation, and energy economics.
His teaching activities include Corporate Finance, Financial Valuation, Empirical Corporate Finance, Global Commodity Markets, Energy Markets, and Sustainability Finance at undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and executive levels.
