Muhammad Hassaan Bin Tariq is a PhD candidate at the Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Bologna. During his Bachelor degree, the focus of his final year research project was Deposition of nanolayer of Titanium alloy on knee joint prosthesis This developed his interest in studying the nanomechanical characteristics of various light-weight alloys which could help in reducing CO2 emissions in different types of machinery. Consequently, during his Master’s degree, he continued to investigate nanomechanical characteristics within joining of titanium alloys using the welding process. Continuing along this line of study, he is currently developing a test bench for testing light-weight threaded fasteners.
His main research interests are analysis and simulation of mechanical systems using numerical modelling, CAD modelling and other techniques. He is spending a 6 months period (upto Match 2024) in an industry specialized in manufacturing bolts for automobiles and aerospace manufacturers during his PhD.
