Mohammad Hawily is a Ph.D. candidate in Entrepreneurship at the University of Bologna. He began his academic journey with a Bachelor’s in International Business Management from the Lebanese International University, having been born and raised in Beirut, along the culturally rich Mediterranean coast. He later earned a Master’s in Service Management from the University of Bologna.
Passionate about how people make decisions, he believes everything begins with the individual. He strives to translate this passion into his research in entrepreneurship. His research focuses on entrepreneurial cognition. Particularly, how entrepreneurs choose co-founders to form startup teams—and the consequences of these decisions on their entrepreneurial journeys.
His academic path has provided a strong foundation in entrepreneurship and international management, allowing him to lecture occasionally at the graduate level.
Outside academia, Mohammad enjoys exploring the outdoors, especially mountain landscapes, which inspire and relax him.
