Mohammad Hawily is a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate in Entrepreneurship at the University of Bologna. Passionate about how people make decisions, he believes everything begins with the individual. He strives to translate this passion into his research in how entrepreneurs choose co-founders to form startup teams—and the consequences of these decisions on their entrepreneurial journeys.
Mohammad’s work has received international recognition, including a top-four nomination for the 2024 Academy of Management PhD Student Best Paper Award in Entrepreneurial Cognition. He was also awarded a scholarship to the prestigious 2024 Babson College Doctoral Consortium, as the sole entrepreneurship PhD student representing Italy. His work was further featured in Babson’s research translation showcase for its practical insights into entrepreneurial team formation.
He occasionally lectures at the graduate level and draws on a strong background in entrepreneurship and international management.
Outside academia, he enjoys mountain, landscapes, and hiking.
