Mirko Zaffagnini

Associate professor at the Department of Pharmacy and Biotecnology of the University of Bologna starting from January 2019, carries out its research in the field of plant physiology and biochemistry. The main research topics are directed to the molecular and regulatory mechanisms underlying the redox regulation mediated by protein cysteines. Currently, he focuses his research on the functional and structural effects of these redox modifications on different enzymes involved in the carbon fixation pathway (i.e. Calvin-Benson cycle) and enzymes controlling the redox homeostasis. Author of 60 publications surveyed by ISI including PNAS, Redox Biology, Antioxidants and Redox Signaling, Plant Physiology and The Journal of Biological Chemistry. He has scientific collaborations with several European and International research groups.
