Milad Niroumand-Jadidi received a joint Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Trento and Freie Universität Berlin in 2017. From 2017 to 2024, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK), Trento, Italy, working in the Remote Sensing for Digital Earth unit. He is currently a researcher at the University of Bologna’s Interdepartmental Centre for Environmental Sciences. His research focuses on developing methods for remote sensing of inland and coastal waters using optical data. He has received several international awards, including a DLR-DAAD fellowship (2022), the ISPRS Best Young Author Award (2021), and SPIE Best Paper Awards for three consecutive years (2015–2017). He also received SPIE’s award for long-range contribution to optics and photonics (2016).
