Michele D'Ostuni is currently employed at DISTAL, University of Bologna. He specialised in Building-intrgrated agriculture (BIA), which combines the principles of architectural and spatial design with issues related to the transformation of urban food systems. He currently lectures in the Interior Architecture - Environmental Quality and Urban Agriculture courses at the University of Bologna and has also been collaborating with the ISIA University of Florence in training in product design for vertical farming. Since 2025 he is the scientific co-coordinator of the EU-funded HE project Horizon
