Short Bio

Michele D'Ostuni graduated with honours from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Florence. His interests range from technological systems for passive envelope design to the sustainable development of small urban settlements in fragile ecosystems. Thanks to these interests, he moved for a period to the Galapagos Islands (EQ) to study the use of local materials and technologies for sustainable design. There, he delved into the topics of nature-based solutions for architectural design and began to study the evolution of systems related to urban agriculture as spatial and design elements, which then led to his doctoral research. The combination of design, nature and agriculture led him, after his doctorate, to work as a research fellow at DISTAL, University of Bologna. Go to the Curriculum vitae
