Master's in European studies (Bologna), PhD scholarship holder at the Scuola Superiore di Studi Storici directed by Luciano Canfora, he has been a visiting fellow at the universities of London (LSE), Cambridge, Queensland, Brown University, and Trento. He has worked at the World Health Organization (Copenhagen) and at the universities of Milan-San Raffaele and LUISS in Rome. He is a Life Member of Clare Hall College, Cambridge, and directs the CRRI in San Marino. His interests include the entire body of authors and themes in which Martin Wight is situated. He works with the Treccani Institute, and the editorial board of the Rivista di Politica. He has published with Cambridge and Oxford UP, Tirant Lo Blanch, Palgrave Macmillan, Bloomsbury Publishing, and various journals, including History of European Ideas, Il Pensiero Politico, Global Change, and International Politics. He won the 2019 ISA Topic Award at the Institute for Advanced Studies. His latest book is
