Curriculum vitae

Michele Alessandri was born in Cesena in September 1980. After attending secondary school, went to high school for technical studies and got his diplomat in 1999. During that period, his interest in descriptive geometry forged his path and led him to enroll in architectural school, at University of Bologna, where he participated actively in the academic life through an association of students, contracts activities and some architectural competitions.

He performs his internship at the academic structure with Prof. Gianni Braghieri in participating for the contest “World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition” then graduated in 2006 with the highest marks.

After college, he spends his time between work and teaching architectural representation.

In 2007 he started collaborating with “Polistudio AES” in Riccione for the design of the “Other home Regione Lombardia” (the project won the international competition: Pei Cobb Freed & Partners Architects LLP) and for some other competitions, as well.

Subsequently, in 2008, he started a solid collaboration with "Sanzio Castagnoli Architect" in Cesena, where worked on several restoration projects on architectural heritage. Over the same year he carries on several personal projects in the field of architectural research.

During his academic career, his interest in the so called “Area of Architectural design and Representation” (with Prof. Arduino Cantàfora) grew so much than led him to start a collaboration, that dates back to 2004 (first with Prof. Arduino Cantafora then with Prof. Annina Ruf at the Faculty of Architecture - University of Bologna - and at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio - University of Italian Switzerland).

He is personally interested in architectural research, mainly in historical and cultural context, addressing the issues of representation associated with them.
