Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Law, University of Molise, she works in the fields of theoretical philosophy, epistemology, and philosophy of psychology. Her research interests include classical and contemporary pragmatism, philosophical psychology, and the relationship between philosophy, the psychological sciences, and the social sciences. She is currently working on the contribution of the first women philosophers, psychologists, and social scientists in the United States (Harvard), and on questions of contemporary conflict in the empirical social sciences from an epistemological perspective.
Education
She graduated in Philosophy at Roma Tre University (BA in 2008, MA in 2010) and obtained her PhD in Philosophy and Theory of the Human Sciences at the same university in 2015, together with a Doctorat en Philosophie from the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon under a joint supervision agreement (cotutelle), with the European Doctorate Label. Part of her doctoral work was carried out at ENS-Lyon.
Academic career
Following a postdoctoral research position at the Université de Nantes / Le Mans Université (2018-2019), she held postdoctoral fellowships and subsequently research fellowships at the University of Molise, in both the Department of Humanities, Social Sciences and Education and the Department of Law (2020-2025). From 2017 to 2022 she was Honorary Research Associate at the Department of Science and Technology Studies, University College London. In June 2023 she obtained the Italian National Scientific Qualification (ASN) as Associate Professor in Theoretical Philosophy (sector 11/C1); she also holds the French national qualification (Qualification nationale, MCF) for sections 17 (Philosophy) and 72 (Epistemology, History of Science and Technology), renewed in 2026. Since 1 June 2026 she has been a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Law, University of Molise.
Teaching
She has taught and supported teaching in philosophy continuously since 2015. At Roma Tre University she conceived and coordinated the Laboratories in Theoretical Philosophy for the degree programme in Philosophy (2015-2018). She was Adjunct Lecturer in Philosophy of Knowledge at the Department of Philosophy, Communication and Performing Arts, Roma Tre University (2018/2019), and in Philosophie anglaise at the Centre Atlantique de Philosophie, University of Nantes (2018/2019). From 2020 to 2025 she taught within the courses in Philosophy of Communication and Philosophy of Political Communication at the University of Molise. From 2017 to 2021 she was a trainer on the training course in "Community Philosophical Practice", and she has given invited doctoral and seminar lectures at the Universities of Salento, Perugia, Ca' Foscari Venice, and Roma Tre.
Research
She was a member of the University of Molise research unit within the PRIN 2022 project Social Transformation & the Crisis of Expertise (2023-2025). She has carried out research abroad as a Visiting Research Fellow at the Departamento de Psicología Biológica y de la Salud, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (2025), and at the Department of Science and Technology Studies, University College London (2018). She is the author of three monographs, including Ontology after Philosophical Psychology (Lexington Books, 2019) and La coscienza tra filosofia e letteratura (Carabba, 2026), and has edited collective volumes and journal special issues (including for the European Journal of Pragmatism and American Philosophy and the Journal of the History of the Behavioral Sciences). She serves as a referee for Italian and international journals in philosophy, the history of the human sciences, and psychology. Since 2013 she has been a member of the Inter-University Research Centre "Pragmatism, Knowledge Construction and Education", and from 2013 to 2020 she was a member of the Interdepartmental Research Centre in American Studies (CRISA).
Institutional roles and academic appointments
She has served on the scientific and organising committees of numerous international conferences, including all three editions of the Women in Pragmatism International Conference (Barcelona 2020, Naples 2023, Wrocław 2026) and the conference William James: Psychology and Philosophy in Dialogue (Sapienza University of Rome, 2025). She conceived and coordinated the Research Seminars in Creativity at the University of Molise (2022-2024). In 2026 she is a keynote speaker at the international conference Building Peace in Times of War: A Pragmatist Perspective (University of Naples Federico II). Since 2026 she has been a member of the Executive Board of the Pragma Cultural Association, having served as its Treasurer from 2022 to 2026.
Scientific and editorial boards
Since 2014 she has been editor of the section "Let Me Tell You a Story: Heroes and Events of Pragmatism" and, since 2019, a member of the Editorial Board of the European Journal of Pragmatism and American Philosophy, for which she also handles contributions in French. Since 2022 she has been a member of the Editorial Board of Cognitio: Revista de Filosofia. Since 2026 she has been a member of the scientific committee of the series "I mondi della psiche" (PensaMultimedia).
Other activities
She is a member of several scholarly societies, including the Italian Society for Theoretical Philosophy (SiFiT), the Society for the Advancement of American Philosophy (SAAP), the European Pragmatism Association (EPA), the Richard Rorty Society, and the international research networks Women in Pragmatism and Naturalism, Modernity, and Civilization.
