Short Bio

PhD candidate in Global Histories, Cultures and Politics (41st cycle) at the Department of History Cultures Civilisations, University of Bologna. Research project in Anthropology provisionally entitled The Ancestors are for the Future: Healing Colonial Time Through Indigenous Somatic Ritual in Eastern Congo. Supervisor: prof. Luca Jourdan.

My research explores the relationship between land, body, and ritual among displaced Batwa communities in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Drawing on decolonial thought, phenomenology, and trauma theory, the project investigates how indigenous somatic practices engage with the colonial rupture from territory and the reconstruction of presence. Alongside my academic research, I am a documentary filmmaker and research consultant in conflict-affected regions. Go to the Curriculum vitae
