Short Bio

Mehrdad Saeidi is a Research Fellow at the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Information Engineering "G. Marconi" of the University of Bologna. His research focuses on artificial intelligence for autonomous agents, with particular interest in reinforcement learning, wireless sensing, localisation, and multi-sensor fusion for navigation in complex and GPS-challenged environments. He also investigates human-inspired behavioural models through computational Pavlovian and instrumental conditioning for adaptive agent decision-making. He contributes to simulation development, experimental validation, and scientific publications in collaboration with academic and industrial partners.

He holds an MSc in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Bologna and a BSc in Telecommunication Engineering from the Islamic Azad University, Najafabad Branch. Before joining the University of Bologna, he accumulated over eight years of engineering experience in power electronics and electrical systems, working in both industrial and infrastructural project environments.
