Maurizio Ventrucci, M.D., was born in Bologna on August 25th, 1948 and graduated in Bologna on July 28th 1973 (110/110 cum laude)

He lectured for more than 750 hours in Gastroenterology, Immunohemathology and Internal Medicine, at the Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and General Surgery Specialization Schools, he held classes for the University Diploma for Biomedical Laboratory Technicians and University Diploma for Nursing curriculum and for the Biotechnologies curriculum.
Since 2002 he has organised 9 training courses for General Medicine doctors and hospital doctors.
Since 2004 he has organised a course on diabetes mellitus for doctors and nurses.

He is the author of 65 articles in international journals with a referee committee and 51 articles on Italian journals or chapters in monographs and treaties with an Overall Impact Factor of 180.

From 1.9.84 to 31.10.92 he worked as physician at Clinica Medica I, then at the Gastroenterology Department and from 1.11.92 to 31.3.00 full-time contract and from 1.4.00 to 30.11.01 part-time contract at the Gastroenterology Department of the Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology Department of Policlinico S.Orsola (S. Orsola General Hospital).
In 1992 he was appointed University Hospital Assistant Doctor.
From December 1st 2001 to 30th november 2013 he was Director of the Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology Department at the Hospital “Ospedale di Bentivoglio” Azienda USL Bologna (Health Care Service of Bologna).
On Octover 1st 2005 to 30th november 2013 he signed a three-year contract, already renewed, as Coordinator of the Northern Area of the Medicine Division of the Health Care Service of Bologna.
