He got his "Laurea" degree in Industrial Chemistry at the
University of Bologna in 1987. From 1988 up to 1990 he attended the
PhD course in Industrial Chemistry. In 1990 he obtained the
position of Researcher at the University of Bologna in the
Department of Applied Chemistry and Materials Science. In 1999 he
has been visiting researcher at the Department of Chemistry of New
York State University at Buffalo for about one year. In 2001 he won
a public competition as Associate Professor in Chemistry. Member of
the Advisory Board of the Italian Association for Science and
Technology of Plastics from 2002 to 2005. His research interests
are mainly in the field of Polymer Chemistry. He is author of more
than 100 full papers on international journal and several
Communications to National and International Congresses.
His research interest concerns the field of polymeric materials
and in particular: the synthesis and characterization of
polyesters
block copolymers based on perfluorinated polyethers
,
the recycling of polymers,
the polymer blends and reactive
blending and the surface characterization of polymeric materials.
More recent scientific activity has been dedicated to the
preparation and characterization of new nanostructured
organic-inorganic hybrid coating and innovative shape memory polymers (SMP).
