Background: Statistician, he has achieved the bachelor’s and master’s degree in Statistical Sciences at University of Bologna.
PhD project: “Artificial intelligence for personal disease risk prediction”
Research interests: Primary prevention and healthy aging, especially in terms of the relation between lifestyle determinants and health status. His focus is on how artificial intelligence and statistics can help to build reliable predictive models for disease risk and healthy life expectancy. In particular, he is currently interested in meta-analyses and analysis of longitudinal data.
Experiences abroad: 1 year at the University of Glasgow (UK), where he was awarded with the bachelor’s degree in Statistics thanks to the participation in a Double Degree programme. 1 year at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Barcelona, Spain), where he conducted research for his final thesis on classification algorithms for medical diagnosis in the Department of Statistics and Operational Research.
