Matteo Marinello is a research fellow at the Department of Arts of the University of Bologna, where he worked on the research projects Circulating Populist Sentiments in 21st Century Film and TV Fiction in Italy (Prin 2022) and ATlas - Atlas of Italian Local Televisions (Prin 2020). He obtained his PhD in Visual, Performing and Media Arts from the University of Bologna (2023). His studies focus on television history, comedy and the relationship between politics and entertainment. He is the author of several essays on these topics and two monographs entitled

Studi culturali and he’s adjunct professor of Histories and Cultures of Television at the University of Bari and of Media Marketing at the University of Bologna.
