My scientific activities focus primarily on the development of systematic methodologies for the assessment and management of cybersecurity and physical security risks in facilities that process and/or store hazardous materials (chemical, process, and oil & gas industries). These methodologies aim to foster the integration of safety and security risk management by aligning approaches and expertise traditionally applied in safety analyses.

In parallel, I study alternative configurations to conventional CCS networks, with particular attention to small-scale emission sources located within industrial clusters. My work involves the analysis of different process and logistic options, considering both established capture technologies (such as amine scrubbing) and emerging solutions (e.g., solid sorbents), as well as various transport modes, through an integrated techno-economic, environmental, and safety evaluation.
