- 1/2010-12/2012: PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna. PhD dissertation: Integrated analysis and design of optimization and up-scaling of inductively coupled plasma synthesis of nanoparticles.

Main projects: 1) Design oriented modeling for the upscaling of the thermal plasma icp process for the production of nanosized powders and 2) Design and characterization of atmospheric pressure non-equilibrum plasma sources for biomedical, pharmaceutical and energy applications.

SCIENTIFIC LEADERSHIP PROFILE

MG scientific activity is focused on the development of innovative plasma technologies and their applications in industrially and socially relevant fields; among his main interests are: manufacturing and characterisation of plasma sources, material processing (nanomaterial synthesis/modification and deposition of functional thin films), food processing and medical applications of plasmas, with a particular focus on decontamination processes.
MG expertise is rooted in atmospheric pressure plasma engineering and physics and complemented with the chemistry and biology background required to support research activities in the fields of plasma and medicine and material processing.
He is author of more than 70 publications in the field and his research has been acknowledged with the “2018 Early Career Award in Plasma Medicine“.
