Short Bio

Matteo Filippini is currently a Junior Assistant Professor in the “Laboratory of Neurophysiology of Visuo-Motor Systems” at the Department of Biomedical and Neuromotor Sciences, University of Bologna, Italy. There, he also earned a master’s degree in Molecular and Industrial Biotechnologies with distinction in 2016 , and completed a PhD in Biomedical and Neuromotor Sciences in 2019.

Matteo’s research interests includes understanding the neural implementation of sensorimotor transformation within non-human and human primate brains, brain-machine interface technologies, neuroprosthetics and neural decoding, machine learning and artificial intelligence. He has been active since 2017 in publishing papers in leading international journals in the field of neuroscience and bioengineering. He is an expert on brain networks involved in the planning and execution of prehension, electrophysiological recording and the latest technologies available for interpreting and processing neural signals.
