Curriculum vitae

Massimo Sordi received his degree in architecture from the university of Venice. His thesis on pinhole photography was supervised by Italo Zannier.

Architect, photographer and curator, has worked as a contract professor for Alma Mater Studiorum of the University of Bologna and lectures on the history and techniques of photography at the “Aldo Rossi” Faculty of Architecture in Cesena.

Curator of SIFEST, Festival of Photography in Savignano, he coordinates workshops and photo projects on the territory in collaboration with the Culture Institution of Savignano; he has curated with Stefania Rössl the project on contemporary photography Global Photography, through exhibitions and catalogues, in many Italian cities and abroad.

He has curated exhibitions of renewed photographers like Roger Ballen, Simon Roberts, Michael Wolf, Rob Hornstra, Bernhard Fuchs, Joakim Eskildsen, Taj Forer.

His photographic work has been exhibited in numerous European galleries and published in magazines and catalogues in Italy and around the world.

In 2008 he was one of the artists invited by Linea di Confine for a campaign during the construction of TAV Milan to Bologna.

In 2009 he made a photographic campaign on contemporary architecture in India, published in Italy by Motta-24 Ore and in France by Actes Sud

In 2010 he was invited as a visiting professor for a summer school in Albania, organized by the Polytechnic University of Tirana and the Politecnico di Bari
His first monograph, "indian photographs" was published in September 2010 for Alinea.
In 2011 he took part of a documentation project in the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, promoted by Autostrade per l’Italia and Mercedes Benz, showed in 2012 at the Festival Different Dimension (Novosibirks, Russia).
