Research Interests

  • Experimental techniques: velocimetry methods (2D/3D PIV, µPIV, astigmatic PTV, defocusing PTV); temperature measurements in fluids (laser-induced fluorescence, thermochromic liquid crystals); deep learning for image analysis.
  • Biological flows: micro-swimmers, microalgae, flow over endothelial cells, blood flows.
  • Microfluidics: acoustofluidics, evaporating droplets, bubble-streaming flows, passive microfluidic mixers, micro-swimmers.
  • Green technologies: biofuels from microalgae, phase-change materials, drag reduction and flow control.
