Massimiliano Curcio is a Junior Assistant Professor at the University of Bologna. His research activity focuses on the development of heterocycle-based structures to be incorporated into photoresponsive systems such as light-activated artificial molecular machines or light-emitting devices operating in the visible and near-infrared regions of the electromagnetic spectrum. He is co-author of peer-reviewed publications in leading scientific chemistry journals and has been an invited speaker at various national and international institutions. Starting 2026, he will be the Principal Investigator of DYNAMO, scientific project funded within the prestigious FIS-StG scheme of the Italian Ministry of University and Research (i.e. the “Italian cousin” of the renowned ERC-StG).
