IgLONs are a subclass of cell adhesion molecules primarily involved in neuronal growth and synapse development. Alteretions in IgLON gene have been associated with depression, schizophrenia and autism. The project aims to clarify the link between miRNAs, IgLON proteins and chronic stress, contributing to the understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying depression and neuropsychiatric disorders, paving the way for the discovery of potential therapeutic targets or biomarkers.
