Martina Livornese

Martina Livornese holds a PhD in Earth, Life and Environmental Sciences from the University of Bologna. During her doctoral studies, she investigated the effects of anthropogenic pressures on forest biodiversity and ecosystem resilience across different spatial and temporal scales, with a particular focus on tipping points and early warning signals associated with critical transitions.

She currently holds a research position at the Department of Biological, Geological and Environmental Sciences within the Horizon Europe FORbEST project. Her work contributes to the development of integrated approaches for monitoring forest biodiversity and carbon and for the early detection of natural and anthropogenic disturbances, combining ecological data, remote sensing and spatial modelling.
