From 1/10/2024 to 30/09/2025: Research Fellow at IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli, Laboratorio RAMSES in the context of a research project funded by the Italian Ministry of Health titled “A novel functionalized nutraceuticals-laden hyaluronic hydrogel for gender- based personalized treatment for osteoarthritis care: a novel proof-of- concept in viscosupplementation (NUTperOA)”. Project code: GR-2019-12370030.
The project NUTperOA aims to develop a new viscosupplementation strategy for the treatment of osteoarthritis (OA) by combining physico-chemical properties of hyaluronic acid (HA) with the biological activity of some nutraceutical compounds (NUT) with anti-inflammatory and regenerative properties. The project also aims to study pathophysiological and treatment differences on the basis of the gender in order to find out new personalized therapeutic approaches.
From 5/12/2023 to 30/09/2024 Research Fellow at IRCCS Azienda ospedaliera Policlinico Sant'Orsola – Malpighi in the context of a research project funded by the Ministry of Health titled "Molecular and microbiota signatures underlying colonic diverticular disease". Project code: GR-2018-12367062.
As part of the research fellowship, activities focused on patient recruitment, clinical database updates and the processing of biological samples from individuals with diverticular disease and IBS. The research involved three main types of samples: colonic mucosa biopsies for the analysis of inflammatory mediators, blood and urine for intestinal permeability studies and fecal samples for gut microbiota analysis.
