Martin Ignacio Flugelman Olmeda

Short Bio

Since 2025, Martin Flugelman Olmeda has been an assistant researcher at the University of Bologna for the project 'Art of Darkness as Cultural Heritage of Urban Landscape.' He is an architect and lighting designer with a Master of Arts in Architectural Lighting Design from Hochschule Wismar, Germany, awarded Best Poster and Scientific Paper at Light Symposium 2023. He also holds an Architecture Degree from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

His research explores the role of light in urban public spaces through site-specific interventions addressing social and urban conflicts. He has contributed to research on Buenos Aires' representation and ephemeral urban interventions, presenting his work at international conferences and publishing in peer-reviewed journals. An experienced educator, he has taught architectural and urban morphology courses in Argentina and led lighting design workshops across Europe.
