Mario Cipone was born in Udine - Italy (February 14th 1953) and
is a full professor of “ Radiology and Diagnostic imaging ” at the
School of Veterinary Medicine – University of Bologna. He
graduated, summa cum laude, in Veterinary Medicine in 1979
at the School of Veterinary Medicine – University of Bologna. He
was winner of the scholarship “Prof. Albino Messieri”. Researcher
at Department of Veterinary sciences - University of Bologna from
1982. Associate professor at Department of Veterinary sciences -
University of Bologna from 1991. Full Professor at Department
of Veterinary medical sciences - University of Bologna from
2000. Member of the Board of the Doctoral Course
"Ultrasonography in human and veterinary medicine" since 1992.
Has been President of Veterinary ultrasonography section of Italian Society
of Ultrasonography in Medicine and Biology. Has been Director of Master on
Ultrasonology of small animal Medicine from 2011 to 2018. Chief of the Radiology
service and Ultrasound service of the Department of Veterinary
sciences - University of Bologna. Member of the Scientific
committee of the Journal of Ultrasound. Clinical and research
activities are mainly related to radiology, diagnostic imaging and
small animal cardiology, and are documented by more than 80
publications (ISI data and Journal of Citation Report) in national
and international journals and abstracts of national and
international scientific meetings.
