Formerly full professor at the University of Bologna, retired from 2021, currently adjunct professor. She carries out her research in the field of Russian culture and literature. Her research interests range from the history of ideas to literature and literary criticism in the Soviet era and in the XIX century. She is going to publish a monograph on the relationship between literature and psychoanalysis in Russia and the Soviet Union.
