Maria Grazia Montesano

She obtained her PhD in Sociology and Social Research from the University of Bologna in 2023. Her research has focused on the sociology of territory and migration, with a particular emphasis on the residential dynamics of the foreign population, processes of segregation, and socio-spatial inequalities. She is a member of Ce.P.Ci.T. (Centro Studi sui Problemi della Città e del Territorio) within the Department of Sociology and Business Law at the University of Bologna. She worked for two years as a research fellow at the PACTE Social Sciences Laboratory at the University of Grenoble as part of the "ANR CARE" project on processes of commoning and urban care infrastructures. She is currently a research fellow at the PACTE Social Sciences Laboratory at the University of Grenoble as part of the International Excellence and Outreach (2025) MAP project "Making and Unmaking the Public City: Financialisation and Philanthropy in Urban Austerity Contexts", in collaboration with the Interuniversity Department of Regional and Urban Studies and Planning at the Polytechnic University of Turin.
