Born in Forlì (FC), Italy, on 12/05/1997
Since November 2023, I have been pursuing a PhD in Health Science and Technology (39th cycle) at Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna, with the project "Towards digital diagnosis: models for the evaluation of the intervertebral disc", under the supervision of Prof. Luca Cristofolini and Prof. Marco Palanca (Technical area) and Dr. Giovanni Barbanti-Bròdano (Medical area). My research focuses on the biomechanical characterization of spinal segments using strain measurement techniques, particularly Digital Image Correlation and Digital Volume Correlation, as well as in vitro and in situ mechanical testing.
In 2023, I was awarded a 7-month Research Fellowship at the Department of Industrial Engineering (DIN) at the University of Bologna, focusing on the assessment of spinal segment competence in the presence of degenerated intervertebral discs. The fellowship included a research period abroad at the University of Sheffield (UK), under the supervision of Prof. Enrico Dall’Ara, on the following topics: biomechanics, intervertebral disc degeneration, micro-computed tomography, and Digital Volume Correlation.
