- 2023/06 PhD student AY, LeMID pump riming grant awarded (£1000).

- 2019/09 PhD student JW wins the best oral presentation prize at the M4 Midlands Microbiology Meeting in Nottingham.
- 2019/06 PhD student RH wins the best poster prize at the Europneumo conference, Greifswald, Germany.
- 2019/06 BSc student tutee KS, awarded the Alec Jeffreys Prize, to the best graduate in Genetics on the BSc Biological Sciences degree.
- 2019/04 postdoc MDSC, Society for Applied Microbiology educational grant support for an educational app.
- 2018/11 postdoc MDSC won the finals of the BBSRC/MRC sponsored Biotechnology Young Entrepreneurs scheme; Biotechnology-YES.
- 07/2018 postdoc MDSC secured funding of the IDRF, The doctoral College and the Hic-Vac Network for collaboration in Malawi.
- 04/2018 PhD student LC visited as ambassadors of the University of Leicester the Nara Women's University in Japan.
- 2016 BSc student LC received the Alec Jefferys Award for achieving the highest scoring genetics graduate.
