Teaching

Dissertation topics suggested by the teacher.

Several theses are available in the field of sensors and biosensors design.

In particular, the topics are focused on the skills of the research group that deals in particular with the development of sensors based on impedance spectroscopy, and in particular:

  • Sensors based on electrical impedance spectroscopy with applications in bioengineering, civil and aerospace engineering and precision agriculture.
  • Sensors based on microwave reflection spectroscopy with the same applications as the previous point.

The technologies to be developed during the thesis will focus on a systems approach that will touch levels such as hardware (HW) with design in both microelectronics and discrete components, software (SW) and firmware (FW), also including signal processing. In particular:

  • Design of analog and digital electronic interfaces;
  • Board electronic systems design;
  • Study of predictive models using statistical methods (PCA, PLS) and machine learning techniques, and related implementation in electronic FW.
