Marco Sagliano

Full professor at University of Bologna since 2025, his research activities focus on guidance, navigation, and control, with special emphasis on computational guidance and trajectory optimization of launch, reentry, descent and landing of reusable systems.

He won the Rita Levi Montalcini Fellowship, the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Global Fellowship, and the European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator Grant for the project STARGATE. He worked with several universities, institutions and companies in Europe, America, and Asia. Among those there are NASA, JAXA, CNES, San Diego State University, TU Delft, Politecnico di Milano, Korean Aerospace Research Institute, University of Pará, GMV Space and Defense, and Analytical Mechanics Associates. 

He is an Associate Editor for the AIAA Journal of Guidance, Control, and Dynamics and for the IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, and is an AIAA Associate Fellow.
