Marco Grossi graduated in Electronic Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Bologna in 2000 with a thesis on the multilevel programming of Flash EEPROM memories. His research activity on the programming of non-volatile memories continued until 2004 when he obtained a PhD in Electronic Engineering at the University of Bologna. From 2006 to 2007 he was a consultant for Carpigiani Group for the development of a system for detecting the bacterial concentration in ice cream mix samples. Subsequently he continued his research activity on the determination of bacterial concentration through analysis of the electrical characteristics of the medium in collaboration with the University of Bologna. From 2012 to 2014 he was a research fellow at the "Guglielmo Marconi" Department of Electrical Energy and Information Engineering of the University of Bologna as part of a project for the development of innovative methods for determining quality parameters in olive oil. From 2017 to 2018 he was a research fellow at the Interdepartmental Center for Industrial Research in Advanced Mechanics and Materials (CIRI-MAM) of the University of Bologna as part of a project for the design and programming of an embedded system for automatic machine monitoring and actuator control. From 2022 to 2023 he was a research fellow at the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Bologna as part of a project for the development of a hardware firewall on FPGA. He acts as a referee for various internationally distributed scientific journals and is the author or co-author of around 60 publications, most of which are published in international peer-reviewed journals.
