Marcello Dalmonte is a theoretical physicist working on the many-body problem across quantum information, optics, and condensed matter. His cross-disciplinary research focuses on: quantum resources in correlated systems; quantum simulators for gauge theories; network and data science approaches to many-body phenomena; and synthetic quantum matter. He serves as Editor at SciPost and was named an Outstanding Referee by the APS (2017). He has supervised the work of 14 postdoctoral scholars, 17 phd students, 6 master students in physics, 2 master students in high-performance computing, and 19 ICTP diploma students. His work has received support from the ERC (Starting and Consolidator grants), EU programmes (Quantera, Quantum Flagship), and the Italian ministry (FARE, PNRR-NQSTI).
