Manuela Maggio

I am a sociologist and social worker and have been a Researcher on Tenure Track (RTT) since 2024. I carry out professional supervision activities and am a member of the Centre for the Study of Urban and Territorial Issues at the University of Bologna.
As a sociologist of environment and territory, my research focuses primarily on housing issues at the local level, with particular attention to their social and territorial implications and to the spatial impact of changes in housing demand. My research interests also include the effects of housing dynamics on the reorganisation of the welfare system and on the role of the social worker, which is also the reference field of my professional supervision activity.
From a methodological perspective, I mainly use thematic mapping, qualitative interviews and biographical reconstructions. In both research and teaching, I promote strong integration between academia and local territories.
